One of the low points in the Brimstone Kid's life. 1878 was a peculiar oasis of relaxation and even happiness for him. In the laid-back town of Just-Plain-Awful, he had a year without major violence. A few fistfights and slapstick mysteries were as bad as things got. Johnny made some genuine friends, had one girl his age show an interest in him, learned some carpentry skills and generally led a good life. Once in a while, he gave in to the curse, but he rode Terror far away from town before becoming Brimstone Kid.
I don't know why there are two bad guys named Brokeface, one in the Mythical West and one in the modern story "Urban Foraging." There doesn't seem to be any connection between them. Maybe it's just unikely coincidence.
