KDF SCHEDULE
Six days a week on shift One (3 PM -11 PM) or Two (11 PM- 7 AM). One free day per week. Rotating Watch Duty one morning per week (7 AM - 3 PM). Always on call for emergencies. Sick leave as needed. Two weeks vacation per year but still on call.
Tel Shai training at discretion of Teachers, takes precedence over schedule.

Thanks for the good wishes, they are greatly appreciated. I hope you are well and enjoying life. The first hundred years are the hardest.

Lately I have not been writing new stories but going through the vast amount of material for contradictions and discrepancies. When you do a story featuring a character you haven't used in literally twenty years, some goofs are inevitable. I needed a chart to keep everyone's details straight.

One funny thing about the KDF is that they ARE most active late at night. So most of the members are on duty from eleven at night to seven in the morning. The Second Shift from seven in the morning till three in the afternoon usually has one member on watch, taking calls and keep an eye on things. But from three until eleven at night is a free-for-all of members coming and going. That's another mess. If I want two of our heroes to show up in Newark at midnight, I have to figure out when they get the assignment and when they leave. (Although once or twice, we have references to Unicorn being bored sitting in a car on stake-out.)

Thought I’d share this with you; although the little girl portrayed here doesn’t resemble Ashley physically, it reminds me of Unicorn.

Thank you. Ashley Whitaker is unusual in that she sprang fully developed onto the page. Nearly all my characters needed some revision and thought about who they were, how they'd react to different situations and what they wanted in their lives. Not Unicorn. Right from the start, she had her own voice and attitude. I think she's most fun when she's teamed up with someone who is basically humorless, like Bane or Megan.

I have a story in mind where Unicorn is teamed up with Windcatcher and they do not get along at ALL. Haley has a personality similar to Ashley but not as sublimely confident. I think Ashley would feel like she was competing with Haley and they might have a feud. Poor Timothy might get caught between them.
